Community work

Our church is committed to serving beyond our walls by meeting real needs in our community and sharing Christ’s love in practical ways. Through our partnership with Build-A-Bed, we help build and deliver beds to families so children have a safe and comfortable place to sleep. We support Kids for Christ, an afterschool program that provides children with care, mentorship, and a positive environment to grow academically and spiritually. We also participate in rice-packing meals, working together to provide food for those facing hunger locally and globally. In addition, our church opens its doors each week by providing meeting space for Al-Anon, Alcoholics Anonymous, and Gamblers Anonymous, offering a welcoming and supportive place for healing and hope. These ministries reflect our calling to serve others, love our neighbors, and be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community.

Mission's within the Church

Within our church walls, we provide compassionate care and practical support to meet everyday needs. During the weekdays, our sack lunch program ensures individuals have access to a simple, nourishing meal. On Saturdays, our hot dog ministry offers not only food but also fellowship and a welcoming presence. Throughout the week, our shower ministry provides a safe, clean space where people can experience dignity and refreshment, while our laundry ministry helps individuals wash and dry clothing with ease. Together, these ministries create an environment of hospitality, care, and respect, reflecting Christ’s love by serving the whole person—body, mind, and spirit.

Small Groups

We have two Sunday School classes for Adults and a few other groups that meet on a regular basis. Our Sunday School classes meet every Sunday after the 9 AM service. We have a MOMs Connect Group that meets once a month, and several groups that meet throughout the week. Email info@unionumc.org for more information.
