Union United Methodist Church has one of the finest Sanctuary Choirs in the area.
The Sanctuary Choir leads the music in worship service each Sunday morning at 9:00am. Organist/pianist, Gail Long accompanies.
The choir also presents special programs and worship services during the church year.
Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 7:30pm (7:45pm during Lent).
During the month of August, the Sanctuary Choir takes a well-deserved vacation.
The choir is open to all ages from youth to adult and sings a wide range of sacred music from traditional to gospel and contemporary.
The Sanctuary Choir repertoire has included Handel's "Messiah" and the Vivaldi "Gloria" accompanied by string players from the St. Louis Symphony, to spirituals, contemporary anthems with brass, and Robert Ray's "Gospel Mass".
In addition, the Sanctuary Choir has completed three European concert tours, with the most recent being a tour of Germany completed in June of 2007. |
