Forum Sunday School Class with Dr. Evyn Adams

The Forum Sunday School Class said "Aloha!" to Dr. Evyn Adams, retired pastor, professor and missionary on Sunday, June 14, 2009 at a dinner in the Olive Garden.

Evyn was born to missionary parents in Japan and recently celebrated his 89th birthday. He has taught classes in India, Russia, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. He also worked with OMS International, teaching at their seminaries and advising in curriculum. Dr. Adams taught classes at the University of Hawaii for 22 years and was a pastor in Hawaii.

In 1993, he married Neva Simms who traveled and worked with him throughout the world. Neva passed away in 2008.

They were both endeared to us and he became our beloved mentor and friend. He shared his teaching and life experiences when he was here for a time and not busy on the other side of the world.

His many other accomplishments are too numerous to mention, but he and Neva were a big part of our church.

Dr. Adams will return to Hawaii in June.

We will miss him but are thankful that he passed our way.
